Careers

The strongest components of a company’s culture are the beliefs and attitudes of its employees. To be successful, an organisation must help shape a productive culture that is in line with its vision for the future.

At Centaur Trust, we live by a set of shared values and principles that guides the actions and behaviour of each of us. It is these values and beliefs that influence the way that we work with each other and our partners.

Our Commitment

Centaur Trust is committed to:

Ensuring that all members of staff will be provided with a fair and confidential process for establishing clear expectations regarding their duties and responsibilities.

Gaining an understanding of the objectives and workloads of a position, recognising achievements and conveying appreciation and providing feedback about work performed.

Agreeing on staff development and training needs and the means of meeting those needs, offering guidance, planning career moves and giving the opportunity to resolve work problems.

IT Infrastructure

As a technologically advanced organisation and Microsoft Partner, we ensure that every team member has access to, and is adequately trained on, all the latest software and technologies available to support and assist them in performing their specific duties.

In addition to acquiring and maintaining the latest off the shelf software solutions, our IT department designs and develops unique and innovative in-house solutions to continually fuel work efficiencies and productivity within the organisation.

The number one benefit of information technology is that it empowers people to do what they want to do. It lets people be creative. It lets people be productive. It lets people learn things they didn’t think they could learn before, and so in a sense, it is all about potential

Training & Development

The primary strategic consideration of our firm is the insistence on consistently high levels of quality in everything we do. It is therefore our policy to always recruit staff of the highest calibre, for all positions. By establishing effective recruitment and selection processes, we ensure our success in appointing the best candidate for each position within the firm. Once the right people are selected in accordance to the criteria outlined on each vacancy, we provide outstanding education and training by organizing in-house training sessions on a regular basis, apart from the on the job training that is provided daily.

Developing our staff’s abilities is a priority in managing our human capital. In our various departments, our people’s excellence is demonstrated by their experience in their areas of expertise but also by the diversity of their career paths. Therefore, providing our colleagues with opportunities for mobility and accompanying them in every step of the way, becomes a priority.

We proactively encourage our team members to improve their knowledge and develop their skills. We arrange extensive training courses from both within and outside the organisation so that they are able to carry out their work expediently and efficiently, irrespective to department and function.

To this end, we have developed our own in-house Centaur Trust Academy whereby team members can enrole for courses online and undertake these at their leisure being accessible from any device. Courses are also assigned in instances where it has been identified that a member needs to brush up on something or develop a new skill.

We are also an accredited ICAEW training office thus offering the possibility to some of our employees to follow this career path. At the same time, the diversity of our in-house departments offer a range of different options from which to acquire new skills and develop.

At Centaur, we value knowledge at the same level with ethics and character. We enable our people to be comfortable being themselves and encourage every person to realise his or her potential. Because the best firms create a workplace that becomes a competitive advantage. Our approach is simple – we want all our members to have the necessary skills to leave, yet choose to stay.

Learning and innovation go hand in hand. The arrogance of success is to think that what you did yesterday will be sufficient for tomorrow

William Pollard

Equal Opportunities

We provide clear and fair terms of employment in compliance with all relevant employment laws in a clean, healthy and safe working environment.

We adhere to a policy of equal opportunities for all existing and potential team members. We do not discriminate on the grounds of colour, ethnic origin, gender, age, religion, political or other opinion, disability or sexual orientation.

We believe that we have all been created equally and as a result, should have all the same rights and privileges as each other and be measured and assessed the same way.

True equality means holding everyone accountable in the same way, regardless of race, gender, faith, ethnicity – or political ideology

Thomas Paine

We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak

Employee voice

Communication has always been the means by which great leaders achieve great things. But these days, communication occurs in sound bites, status updates, text messages, and tweets. More and more, communication is one-to-many, not one-to-one. The problem with that is it’s mostly superficial and nobody’s got time to pay attention to even a tiny fraction of all the gigabytes being blasted at them every day.

According to most studies, the average person remembers between 25% and 50% of what he or she hears. That means that when people communicate in the workplace, they are likely to retain less than half of the conversation. It’s not so much that we have poor memories, but rather that most of us simply don’t listen very well.

Communicating well requires listening closely enough to not only hear the words but to grasp true meaning. By doing so, you enhance productivity and add to your ability to communicate without conflict or misunderstanding.

We listen and hear what our people are saying, we empathize, relate and truly connect. By really listening to our people, we create the conditions for efficient communication so that every individual within Centaur Trust can feel a sense of involvement and belonging and grow with us.

Fair & Friendly Policies

We take pride in the happiness and wellbeing of our team members and aspire to provide the best working environment possible. In order to regulate our relationship, we have created a thorough and extensive set of operating policies.

A lot of care and attention has gone into its preparation to ensure that each policy is fair from both the perspective of the team member and that of the company and that it is also balanced in terms of gender equality, such that the package makes sense, is acceptable across the board and complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

I think perfect objectivity is an unrealistic goal; fairness, however, is not.

Michael Pollan

Wherever you go, go with all your heart.
